The desktop

Menu bar#

Along the top. On the left: the Z logo menu and the name of the focused program with its File, Edit, View, Window and Help menus. On the right: the privacy chip, the next scheduled launch, provider health dots, Wallet, Control Center, Notifications and the clock.

The health dots show the status of Blockscout, GeckoTerminal, DexScreener and the chain RPC. Click them to see the time of each provider's last error.

Dock#

The floating bar at the bottom. Icons grow as you move the mouse over them. A dot under an icon means the program is running; icons bounce while a program opens. The first icon opens the Launcher, a grid of every program. Recycle Bin sits after the separator.

Desktop icons#

Icons snap to a grid. Drag to move, drag on empty space to select several, double-click to open, right-click for a menu. You can hide them in Settings.

Windows#

• The three round buttons close, minimize and maximize.
• Drag the title bar to move; drag any edge to resize; double-click the title bar to maximize.
• Drag a window to the left or right screen edge to snap it to half the screen.
• The ? button on the right of the title bar opens that program's page in these docs.
• On narrow screens only one window shows at a time, full screen, with tabs at the bottom.

Mission Control#

Press F3 to see every open window side by side. Click one to focus it.

Control Center#

The switch icon in the menu bar. Quick toggles for theme, cursor effect, sounds and lock screen.

Notification Center#

The bell icon slides in a panel with recent notifications. You can mute them in Settings.
